Say Goodbye to E-Commerce and Get Ready to Welcome M-Commerce

Do you remember the time, when you use to go to the super market to buy products? Yes, we all do. Then with the popularity of telephone, people have started calling for home delivery then the time came when we all became too lazy to even call the super market and started using the concept of e-commerce. It looks like now we also have to say good bye to e-commerce because m-commerce is making its way at a very rapid pace in our lives.

M-commerce we can say, is a smarter extension of e-commerce which gives us the ability to buy/sell things when we are on the go. It is actually difficult to be glued in front of the desktop for every small little thing one needs to order. Lots of online stores are now closing the deals with the leading mobile companies in order to have the pre-build applications in the mobile phones.

Some of the smart facts of current m-commerce industry are:

  • 2013 has seen the growth of 11.6% of m-commerce sale

  • Almost 86% of big online retail stores in USA have a mobile application to support their m-commerce department

  • It is predicted that m-commerce will be a $700 billion industry by 2018…says Juniper research report

In reality, it is actually difficult to be stuck in front of the desktop regularly. People prefer to do everything on the go these days. From morning’s newspaper to evening’s e-book, they want to read, shop, play and socialize etc. everything while they are mobilizing.

It is very evident from the numbers which these online stores are generating that m-commerce is the next big thing. Even last year 15% of total online sales happened through mobile and this number is expected to grow by at least 150% this year. More and more people are opting for m-commerce because its saves their time as well as give them freedom to do shopping anytime and anywhere they like.

Way back in 2010, the industry pundits were estimating that the trend of m-commerce will emerge by 2024-25. But Samsung has changed the prediction will the launch of its large screen mobiles and phablet. Now people do not feel the need of the desktop anymore because big screen give them the comfort they have been asking for.

The demand for mobile responsive website is becoming huge because enterprises wants to attract customers on every possible platform they can. They want to target customer on every platform so that they can increase their sales. Even opting between a mobile application and mobile responsive website is becoming a tough choice.

All in all, we can just say that soon we all will be saying good bye to e-commerce because more and more consumers will be switching towards m-commerce. In our point-of-view, the user experience of m-commerce will definitely be better than e-commerce.

Phablets – The Next Million Dollar Market

Phablet is a word used to describe a device which is half-smartphone and half-tablet and has a screen size more than 5.5 inches. It is a revolutionary devices which is grabbing the attention of users. According to the analysts at Juniper Research, last year about 20 million phablets were shipped around the world and this figure is likely to rise by 100 million units over the next four years i.e. by 2018, manufacturers will be shipping 120 million phablets per year.

With this popularity, most of the companies like Samsung, LG, Nokia, BlackBerry and Huawei etc. are moving towards the manufacturing of 6 inches phones or phablets to get the attention of the users. In this Apple is still the exceptional one; however with the rumors bulging out for iPhone 6 it indicates that the screen size may vary from 4.7 to 5.7 inches which is much bigger than the size of the current iPhones i.e. 4 inches and so.

If we look at the popularity, a survey conducted by Accenture showed (conducted on 6,000 people from six countries), that 52% of respondents preferred a phablet for their next smartphone. In the US, where phablet adoption has been slower, the number drops to 45%. It is a lower number, but fairly significant which can be ignored.

This trend was started by Samsung when they came with their innovative and big phones like Galaxy Note which got a display of 5.3 inches. Later Samsung aggressively pushed their bar to little higher screen size and came up with Galaxy Note 2 with 5.5 inches, Note 2 got more number of fans and user acceptance. Now with Note 3, they came out with an even bigger 5.7-inch display, no one even batted an eye with this phablet.

Phablet is more popular in the East Asia, where consumers like to use their devices more for video streaming and for gaming purposes. Under the category of big phones or phablets, the following devices follow the high profile launches from late last year including Nokia Lumia 1520, HTC One Max and LG curved G flex which has a display of 6 inches. Where such big jumbo phones are making such an impact over the market, the following 5 phablets are making a huge impact on the consumers –

5. Nokia Lumia 1520: Where Nokia is still fighting for the position and came up with a pretty good phone called Lumia 1520 with great built-in camera and good looking screen, this Windows phone is still lacking in some of the departments.

4. HTC One Max: If you are looking for a big phone (we mean really big here), then you could do a lot with this phone.

3. Sony Xperia Z ultra: This phone offers you a nice camera and a huge screen size but there are some glitches when it comes to running applications over the bravia engine and it doesn't fits into good value for money even.

2. LG G2: LG made a huge impact over the mobile industry with their G2 mobile in fact, it was considered the best phone for the year 2013. It is the best combination between value for money and technology and got impressive features and specifications. The only can it got is it doesn’t come with a microSD card slot.

1. Samsung Note 3: Galaxy Note 3 is a high-quality portable device, offering the best performance we've ever seen, a stunning screen and nice build quality. But it also got problems like battery life and camera is not very impressive.

Nevertheless, it won’t be strange to see in coming years people are roaming with huge phones or phablets in their pockets. The gadgets or wearable technologies will make life and operations easier and simpler. These phablets are the real game changers in the coming future and it would be really interesting to see how it captures the market even more.

Google Is Going to Give Hard Time to Amazon with its Same-Day Delivery Service

Yes, it is true. Google has also launched the ‘Same-Day’ delivery program in Southland. Some days before, we have reported that Amazon is working religiously towards the algorithm which will

predict the future prospective delivery and people will be able to receive the products at their doorstep within few hours of the online payment.

It looks like Google does not like any other company being ahead of them. It is a cut throat reality that every company has same products and they are almost reaching to the customer at the same price. The only thing which can change the game here is the approximate delivery time.

Google has launched its delivery pilot project in the bay area earlier this year. Google expands test of its same-day delivery service to Southland and invited all their employees to test this mode and give company- ‘The Real Feedback’. This service from Google is known as Google Shopping Express service. Lots many employees of Google work in that area and they tested this service. Google is hoping to soon open this service to general community.

The experts are hoping that Google will also launch this program as all the previous programs. Wherein, slowly and gradually Google will increase its reach. Since September, 2013 customer from San Francisco to San Jose are able to use this Google Shopping Express service.

Right now the consumers can go and compare different products offered by different merchants on Google Shopping Express website and place an order into a single online basket. If the users do not have any membership they have to bear the shipping cost of $4.95 for each retailer they purchase the product from.

Google currently is offering 6 months of free membership and the benefits of the membership is still under deliberation. The company is waiting to collect enough data so that they can come up with something stronger which can also segregate people properly on the basis of their membership.

In this new turn of events, Google has also launched the window of time for delivery. The merchandise will be delivered to the consumers in the Google branded trucks driven either by the employees of Google or by the people who are trained by the company.

So far Google says that they have received very good feedback about this same day delivery system and they are very optimistic about spreading this whole delivery system all over USA. We also hope that Google does succeed in this mission because it will eventually make the shopping easier for the online buyers.

Apple Is Secretly Building Its Own Content Delivery Network (CDN)

We all remember the speech in which Steve Jobs said- “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish”. It looks like this hunger of Apple Inc. is not going to stop anytime soon because reportedly Apple is working on its new content delivery network which will further give access to Apple towards its products, says WSJ.

Apple Inc. is known for its control over its products and complete user experience. This obsession of apple gave birth to iTunes store, Mac etc. Now if we all look back, we actually feel that this obsession gave us so many amazing and quality products. And as Steve jobs had said while introducing iTunes to us- “Its Good Karmas”.

Right now, Apple controls the entire customer experience except the delivery part of it. That has been handled by Akamai Technologies and Level 3 Communications for them. Now it is believed that Apple wants to bring that under its roof as well and it wants to promote its iCloud service while giving an exceptional experience to its consumers.

Apple Inc. recently hired so many people who have experience in building large scale content delivery networks from all over the globe. It looks like Apple does not want to settle for anything which is less than perfect. However, because things are under wrap it is unclear that what type of network Apple is building and what it is intended to achieve from this delivery network, what area it will serve and what are the other factors which they will keep in mind while developing this network.

If Apple succeeds (which we are sure of), it will be a blow for Akamai technology. Recently, Akamai technology wanted to re-negotiate the deal with Apple and wanted them to increase some of the fee. Right now Akamai has 51 cent a share on the revenue of $422.4 million. It looks like Apple has decided to build its own delivery network than to increase the revenue share of Akamai.

It is true that with this new delivery system Apple will have the full control over its deliveries however, iCloud has its own limitations and the consumers may have to fight the initial hiccups while getting use to this new system.
All in all, right now things are in wrap and no one knows what features this new delivery system has to offer to the world. We will keep you updated about any new development we hear!!

Motorola Launched The Moto G In India - The Exceptional Phone for the Masses

Motorola Inc. was an American Multinational telecommunication company. Earlier Motorola was really famous with its phone called MOTO-RAZR which was launched in back 2003. Later, with the increasing competition and new launch of smart phones Motorola lost its charm somewhere. Then, when it faced loses and it got split into Motorola mobility and Motorola solutions. Shortly after this split, Google, the pioneer developer of Android itself, announced in August 2011 that they would acquire Motorola Mobility for US$12.5 billion, subject to regulatory approval. This deal was closed in May 2012, after which they have to sell their set-top box business to Arris Group. With the latest news which is coming in the telecom market is that Google is selling Motorola's smartphone business to Lenovo for $2.9 billion. Additionally, with this Motorola has lost nearly $2 billion since Google took over. This loss seams really huge and gave company to face huge damages. Previously Google recovered some of the money that it spent on Motorola by selling its set-top operations last year to Arris Group Inc. for $2.35 billion. Still with all these ciaos and hassle, Motorola has launched Moto G in India in a hope that this affordable Android phone can capture the attention of the target audiences and can bring some luck to the company.

In late-2013, Motorola launched two new smartphones, the Moto X and Moto G in USA. But in India it is launched recently at an amazing price range of Rs. 12,499. As per the company, Moto G is launched for the masses. It’s a low-cost smart phone which looks great and it is available at very affordable cost. In today’s post, we will find out how it is an “exceptional phone at exceptional price”.

The very first thing that Motorola claimed about its phone is a 4.5” of sharp HD edge to edge display, but it is not entirely accurate there are some bezels just around the corners of the phone rest the image quality is great and with such price offer it falls under the best category if compared with same price range i.e. only $179.

One thing which is really fascinating is its back cover. The quality of back cover is really substantial. Although the phone’s front panel is black but the back panels comes with 7 different color options. Today where even iPhone 5c came with colored panels, Moto G gives quite a competition when it comes to the panel quality. In this, you can switch to one of the many colorful back covers that the company is offering.

No doubt, display quality is the strength of this product. With the given price range, it offers an amazing picture quality of 1280x720p HD resolution and 329ppi pixel density where other companies like Samsung and Sony lacks to offer such resolution at this incredible price range. The screen quality is really good and with screen size of 4.5” it doesn’t look small or too big into your hands. In fact it look quite a lot like Moto X and phone looks really commendable.

Moto G runs on the powerful Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor, clocked at 1.2GHz. This processor is not the best and neither does it claim to be. Designed on the A7 CPU architecture, this chip is powerful enough to perform most tasks seamlessly, especially since there is bloatware to bog it down. Currently the phone runs on 4.3 (jelly bean) version but company has announced that it will be available with upgraded version of 4.4 (kitkat) soon. Moto G is not only a smart phone which runs completely over the Android software but it gives a nice competitions to all other smart phone companies who have devices under the same categories.

The camera quality is okay but not very fascinating. It got 5MP with led flash while and also has 1.3MP front camera. Company has claimed about its battery life as all-day battery which is acceptable.

One of the major glitch about this phone is, its storage. Where there are companies offering phones with a good enough internal memory which can also later be expandable to desired memory with the SD card etc. Moto G comes with only 8 and 16GB storage capacity; In fact the actual capacity is 5.5 and 12.5GB, respectively. Although it offers cloud storage via Google Drive - 65GB.

Below we are discussing its features in detail –

• Camera Quality for Photographs, Check Here

• Camera Quality for Videos, Check Here

In our point of view, it is a nice smart phone which offers amazing picture quality in an affordable price range which will definitely attract the masses. The funky colored back panels to its amazing Quad-Core 1.2 Ghz CPU, this phone will definitely make a mark if we ignore its memory and camera features at one side. So what do you think about this phone? What are your feedback and stakes?

Amazon Audacious Anticipatory Algorithm Will Perhaps be the Game Changer for the Online Shopping World

Way back in 1995, when online shopping was launched by e-bay, people dismissed it as a crazy idea as no one wanted to buy a product which they had not physically seen and held. However, today the story is very different. Online shopping is estimated to be a $250 billion industry. Online purchases range from clothes to jewelry, health products to books.

The only hitch which people face during online shopping is the ‘expected delivery time’ which can even go up to 10 days. However, the new discovery of ‘Audacious Anticipatory Algorithm’ by Amazon states that this delivery time will be reduced to a few hours or maybe minutes. Yes, you read it right-FEW MINUTES!

Amazon has been working on this algorithm for quite some time now. As the name suggest, it is an anticipatory algorithm which will be working on the concept of ‘anticipation’. So in lay man’s terms, technically Amazon will be shipping your product even before you have ordered it.

As per amazon, this whole concept will work on the likelihood of the person ordering a particular product at a specific location. So let us say that amazon thinks that a person living in Mountain View, California is likely to order the whole set of PS-3. They will be shipping this product to Mountain View without any address. This product will remain in shipment till the time that person or any other person before him makes an online purchase of this product. Once the payment has been made, the product will be delivered within hours and if the shipment is around the corner perhaps in a couple of minutes.

This concept sounds very fascinating but has a number of risks involved. Predicting human behavior was never an easy job and it is certainly not easy in the world of technology. But as per Amazon, they have developed a highly complex algorithm which will be able to predict when and which item is likely to be ordered.

In reality, this is just a cut throat old fashioned American way to reach to the customer. Every company is selling the same product at almost at the same price. Whosoever, wins the race of a reduced delivery time frame, will grab the customer’s attention and loyalty.

As a concept, this looks fantastic. we hope that Amazon gets this algorithm right so that the time of delivery of the products reduce significantly and we get to have our desired products delivered to us within a couple of hours of online purchase.
